Anthony O Neill’s Nestor poster.

Anthony has sent me a new Poster that he has made to promote Nestor. Looks excellent.

Cover for Nestor Issue Two

I have just got the finished cover for Nestor Issue Two and I thought I better post it up here for people to check out. The titles for the book have been done by Emily Kenny. She is also responsible for that shiny new logo on the side of the blog too. The cover art was done by the very talented Robert Elrod. Robert is an excellent artist from Colorado and his website is worth a look.

A new strip for the Wire and Gas Anthology.

It’s been a hectic few weeks. The work continues on Nestor and we are in the midst of planning a new Abandoned Comics website. I do have some very good news regarding the Wire and Gas Anthology. The excellent Mr Joe Campbell has a great World War One strip called Distant Fields that will now feature in the Wire and Gas book. It is an eleven page full color strip. So that brings the total number of stories in the book to five including the Joe’s beautifully drawn Nestor prequel story Ripper.

The other bit of news I can share is that Myself and Aidan Courtney are busy working away on the next book after Nestor. The working title so far is Black Stone and the first issue of this four issue comic will be drawn by Joe Campbell. It is still in the early stages, we have a very rough draft of the first issue complete so it will be a while yet before there is any more news about it.

So I’ll leave you with a few panels from Joe’s strip Distant Fields. Be on the look out for the book when it comes out in early 2012.

Some new bloggy goodness.

First off let me start by mentioning Comics West. We called into this event held at NUI Galway at the weekend and got a chance to catch up with some folks I hadn’t seen since the 2D Festival back in June. We will be back there next year with Nestor and a few other titles from Coimici Gael and Abandoned Comics.

My buddy Martin Greene the man behind Nestor and The Wire and Gas Anthology has set up a new blog. It’s still in it’s infancy but it will be another place to check out all things Abandoned related in the coming months. The link for that is here.

Next up we have Mr Stephen Coffey. Stephen is the writer behind A society for a remarkable suicide as well as Pogoroboto. Here is his Website for ye to check out. The reason I’m mentioning Stephen is because he will be one of the first people to contribute to the gallery that will be up on the Abandoned Comics Site when it launches next year. We will set up a gallery on the site that will feature sketches of Nestor by different artists. If anyone wants to do one they can get in contact with us at The site probably won’t be ready until early next year but no harm in getting the ball rolling on this one.

Dr WTF panel.

So here is a colored panel from the Dr WTF strip myself and Trystan Mitchell are working on for Owen Watt’s book. It’s coming along nicely as ye can see.

Coimici Gael’s first imprint is here.

Let me start off by saying a huge thank you to everyone that voted for me in the ICN Awards. It has been a terrific week and thanks for all the congrats I’ve got over the week.

I can finally talk about the big news that has been in development for the past few weeks. With Aidan’s blessing we have set up Coimici Gael’s first imprint. Abandoned Comics will work on titles aimed at an older audience. Our first two projects will be Wire and Gas and Nestor. At the moment the imprint will work on comics that myself, Aidan or Martin come up with but hopefully it will go well and we can expand the number of titles we work on.

Just want to say a big thank you too to Emily Kenny who has created our logo. I have set up a page on the blog that has some more details about the imprint so ye can check that out too.
